Jordan Consulting- Private Investigator

Ok, so I’m not going to add Private Investigator to my listing of expertise but wanted to share with you my experience in facilitating simplicity for some thus far.  I have a top 5 list of areas researched for different companies and individuals that I have worked with that I want to share with you.

#5 : Canadian Energy Companies – a comprehensive list of different types of Canadian Energy Companies mainly within the western region. 200 contacts, some publicly traded companies and stock information…something I know little about.

#4: Toy Companies in British Columbia – this research project was delegated only a certain amount of hours but there are many different types of childrens shops and toy shops throughout B.C. online and store front! The list goes on  and on and on. Who wouldn’t want this list at the fingertips? I don’t know because some of the best items on earth, are found in these shops!

#3: Hotels: Yes, Hotels now this was just a research listing …for now… but I think that would be a sweet list to revist, see which is best and make a wish list of ‘Where to Stay’ in this big ‘ol Province of ours!

#2: Spas & Wellness Centres- Need I say more? If I do I’ll just go on and on! Pure Pampering and Relaxation and well, the intent of this listing was for these companies was to check out those in the same or similar industry to them… as well as move on to compare more on industry standards and where to move forward in their business.  A little area I happen to have close to 10yrs experience in.  And the #1 Research request I have received this year? Seriously?  Doctors!

Yes, Doctors!  I have had numerous requests on researching Doctors in different areas.  I have heard that it is a particularly challenging task in the Lower Mainland.  Yes, information is on line about Doctors accepting new patients. By the time you call them all you may discover that the listing is inaccurate, they are indeed not taking new patients and you have to suss it out for yourself.  Of course the catch is, you still have to go and visit that Doctor to see if you personally are a fit.

And this is it.  My top 5 list on what I have been asked to research this year.   Of course there are many reasons for research to be done.  Many companies like to  create  joint venture relationships.   Your Assistant can research potential  joint venture partners that may provide to a similar customer as your biz or whose customer base will benefit from your product or service. You may do contra or come up with creative ideas to share networking opportunities or partnerships in hosting events or client appreciations, to name a few.

So, while I can’t call myself Cadi Jordan, PI… Research is Investigating and that is good fun!

Oooo! Another request…I’m off to get my ‘sneak’ on ;)

HELP! A Four Letter Word?

Personally, I believe that we’re all made to help each other out in some way… we are wired that way..and when we fall out of that purpose… we short circuit. Things usually fizzle and fall apart.  Don’t get me wrong, I used to be the Queen of not asking for help! After all, HELP is a four letter word! I can do this myself right? Why would I need help?  I still lapse into this category from time to time.

When we fall into practicing life with purpose…on purpose, fulfillment comes and we are energized, restored and renewed!

I was pleasantly surprised recently, upon meeting with a prospective client…they were grasping for help, stuck in a hamster wheel of not knowing what to do.  We talked…we talked some more and then some!  There were many things that I could have easily jumped on board to help with.  I could see that this person was burnt out and in need of restoration and renewal.  I let them know that I would be there to help however I did not wish to take their money and run with it!  I let them know that I would be there for them,  after they took a good couple of weeks off for themselves to take a step back from the situation and gain some new perspective.  If after this sabbatical they’ve decided to come back to me, I let them know that I would be here.  I wanted to see some passion back for what they were doing!

It’s no fun waiting to ask for help until you’re desperate.  Here I was turning them away…. for now.  The best thing that I did for this person was to make them take a step back to take care of them self first, so that they could better function in other areas of  life and business.  They looked right at me and thanked me for this.  Perhaps the best help that they needed that day… for where they were at.  Yes, perhaps it’s cliche…’sometimes we have to get to the bottom before we can get back up’…but what I’m saying is don’t wait for that if you don’t have to!

If you are passionate about what you are doing in your business but find there are aspects that you just can’t get around, I’ll get excited along with you and jump right in!  I enjoy making someone elses life/business a little easier….lighten the load if I may, because we weren’t meant to do this alone.

Now, how may I assist you? Virtual Assistant? Personal Assistant?  HELP really can be a good four letter word ;)

Do Your Best! Delegate the Rest! 5 Ways a VA May Assist your Biz!

Posted on: 2 Comments

Based on my past experience in assisting new businesses and as a Virtual Assistant for a number of clients, these are 5 tasks you could be delegating to your Virtual Assistant!  Use a Virtual Assistant to help you make more profit with less of your time today!  Do your best, Delegate the rest!

  1. Media. Your VA can  research industry-specific contacts in order for you to  develop relationships with these media contacts so that you are the industry guru they think of when they’re doing a story around your area of expertise.
  2. Article Marketing. Have you written some articles? Have those articles work for you repetitively! Your VA can submit articles you’ve written to online article databases increasing links back to your site in turn, driving more traffic back to your site!
  3. Strategic Alliances. A speedy way to grow your business is by creating  joint venture relationships, but you knew that!   Your VA can research potential  joint venture partners that may provide to a similar customer as your biz or whose customer base will benefit from your product or service. You may do contra or come up with creative ideas to share networking opportunities or partnerships in hosting events or client appreciations, to name a few.
  4. New Product Development. Do you have presentations that you have prepared that have not gone past the few times that you have presented that topic?  Do you have a plethora of blog posts waiting to be refreshed? Even VLOGS…they add up!  Your VA may assist you in formatting  those old Blogs & Vlogs into an ecourse or ebook and in turn provide a new revenue stream for you!
  5. Newsletter Management. An email newsletter can help you gain prospective clients.  You may write your primary and filler articles each week and forward those to your VA to format and send out to your newsletter followers.

There are operational aspects of your business that you could delegate to someone else. Take the time to assess what they are. Many VA’s have a questionnaire that you can fill out to assist you in your thoughts!  If you had some extra time in your biz, how could you increase the revenues?  Consider the possibilities! – Your Virtual Assistant will help you make more profit with less of your time today!  Do your Best & Delegate the Rest!
