Back in February, I won a set of very special eyelashes from Queen Bee Spa at our Vancouver Twestival Fundraiser!  I thought it must be a spectacular prize as it was valuedat $225!  That got me thinking about how eyelashes could even cost so much!  I spoke with owner Emily a handful of times shortly after.  This was a 3hr time commitment and I was really impressed with the generous prize offer!

I decided what better time to do this than for summer so that I could wear less make up of course!  I booked in with Emily in her beautiful spacious heritage home studio spa.  I had some regular paperwork to fill out and check for allergies and then I was invited to my 3hr nap.  Well, not quite because I like to chat.  I have never had this done before and I had a lot of questions!  Emily is a licenced and qualified beauty professional.  She is also a member of the Cosmetology Industry Association of British Columbia.   Emily is Certified also with Xtreme Lashes which she used on me for this prize.   

Emily carefully measured my existing lashes and chose the right length for me.  Using a special adhesive she set to work. I was amazed at how methodical and gentle the whole procedure was as I relaxed on the memory foam topper of the esthetics table and was cocooned in a soft warm blanket.  It’s no secret that I did doze off for a short time.  The type of lashes used  are a faux mink.  Emily explained that this is a polyester blend that maintains consistency with it’s curl.  Emily carefully placed them one by one.  I was amazed!

You may have noticed from my previous hair post that I pretty much share everything!   Attached here for your viewing are my before and after pics from my Xtreme Lashes session at Queen Bee Spa.  I am thoroughly impressed with my new lashes.  If I would like to keep them I will need to book back in for a fill in approximately 4 weeks time.  They are perfect for summer, weddings and special occassions!

    I’m leaving on a month vacation and would love to try them! I think it’ll be good to let my skin breathe and not wear makeup for a month. I’m used to falsies but they can be quite a hassle applying them everyday or so.

    I would love to try these!  Growing up with non-existent lashes all my life, I have always been jealous of people with even enough lashes that you could curl!!  WHat a treat this would be to try for free!!  Make me a convert!

    Would LOVE this- ever since I saw my older sister and mom plucking their eyebrows, and then stupidly took the scissors to my LASHES (thinking I was so cool and grown up) I have been a bit lacking in the lash department! Have always wanted to try this (fingers crossed)

    First thing I do when I get up is put on mascara (no other makeup – just mascara!) At night I hate taking it off – I’m the worst about it. It is horrible for my eyes so after reading your post – it seems like lash extensions would be a lot healthier.

    Being Asian, I’d love to have fuller lashes and not have to stand in the cosmetics department for an hour searching for the perfect mascara designed to volumize your lashes!
